My Time to Clear Airport Security

Fly on planes has never been my strong suit. I was never a fan of heights if you could believe it or not. Plus as we’re taking off and landing the pressure on my head is nearly unbearable. It feels like my head is in a vice at times. Not to mention I get air sick and I have this thing about not using public bathrooms. Yes flying for me certainly has never been my strong suit. The craziest part is that I voluntarily go through the process to clear airport security. This is another feat unto itself. I’ll never forget heading down to Florida with my friend two or three summers ago.

Unfortunately however this distress is turned into long lines and aggravation at the airport terminals. On top of this you can’t go very long without hearing in the news about someone nearly feeling violated over how their treated my airport security or the new potential dangers inherent in taking a plane.

My friend and I were heading down to Daytona to visit our childhood friend whom had moved over a decade ago. He’s a decent person and was at the time like many of us trying to find his place in life. Being that it had been years since we all last got together we thought it a good idea to head down and say what’s up and stay a few days.

Usually the inner ear tension on landing is the worst part about my fly experiences but this time it was when we were forced to clear airport security. I guess it is how we look or maybe because we’re just young guys but we were yanked out of the standard security line for more “advanced” security procedures. If we had a clear mebiometric card though; things would’ve been different.

We made it to our destination on time and enjoyed Daytona very much so but the treatment we had received at the terminal heading there was unforgettable. Since then I’ve always thought twice about taking a plane to anywhere over simply driving my car and spending the money on gas.
