You cannot say that you have visited Italy if you do not go to see the Vatican in Rome. The real name of this landlocked city and state is ‘stato della citi del vaticano’. This in English means the state of the city of the Vatican. It is al surrounded by a wall and has the Pope as the head ruler of the state.
With a population of about 800, the Vatican has a total area of 44 hectares. Some places of interest for you to visit while in there should be the Renaissance church, St. Peter’s cathedral and the Popes very own official residence, the Sistine chapel.
Still in Rome, you can go by the colosseum which was finished in 80 A.D. It was an arena where the public would go to watch a variety of games.
The city of Venice is another place on their map that you just have to see. You can begin with Ponte vecchio and Basillica di San Lorenzo. The Uffizi gallery and the statue of david by Michelangelo are not to be missed either.
A tour of Italy cannot be complete without a wine tour as Italy has the finest wines in the world. You can get the likes of Chainti, Montalcino and the world renowned Cabarnet sauvignon.
The Brunello di Montalcino however is said to be ‘the Rolls Royce’ of Italian wine.
