Travelers around the world enjoy seeing the sights and wonders of different places with only a backpack for all the things they need. Because they only have a pack on their backs, the possibilities of new sightseeing and activity adventures are limitless.
Naturally, every backpacker needs to have a checklist of sorts, a list of items that have to be present inside the backpack before heading out on the long-awaited adventure. So without further ado, here is a quick list of things you need to bring with you on your backpacking trip.
Your Backpack You can’t head to the woods and have a wild adventure without a backpack…duh! You’ll need to choose a good-fitting backpack that provides you with more than adequate comfort.
Quick Drying Towel …but a quick drying towel. Come on, do you really think you can survive with a heavy and damp towel making your backpack even heavier…and smellier?
These Shoes Are Made For Walking Pick comfortable shoes as you would learn soon enough that walking would be a major part in your backpacking adventure.
Underwear and socks I wonder why this is even in the list when it’s so obvious – but then again, some people actually forget these things!
Long Underwear Don’t worry – this only applies for specific seasons. You might also wear your long underwear when you stay in hotels that do not have adequate well-heating systems.
Pillow Case You may be surprised, but you will certainly need a pillow case should you stay at a backpacker hotel.
Sleeping Bag See above comments.
The Passport If you’re traveling international, don’t leave home without your passport.
Spy Wallet You will need this to divvy up any money if you’re traveling in a party of many.
The Day Pack Most backpacks have a detachable daypack.
A Camera For Picture Taking A digicam may be better, but bulkier and heavier to carry.
Journal If you love to write as much as I do.
Bathroom Flip Flops You’ll need these when you bathe.
A Few Traveler’s Checks Because you’ll never know when you need them in place of money.
Wet Wipes Always come in handy. Quite convenient too!
Laundry Detergent Who knows – you might need it!
How To Save Space
Rain Coat Don’t forget to bring one should you be traveling to tropical countries where there is such a thing as a rainy season.
A Lock Keep your belongings safe at all times.
Band Aids In case of minor injuries.
Travel Guide Just make sure you can carry it along, no matter how comprehensive it is.
Personal items such as toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and shampoo for hygienic purposes.
How To Pack Clothing Before you leave for your trip, prepare all necessary clothes. Then take only the half. Clothing can be quite heavy once you think about it. Don’t bring too much and you’ll be fine.
